Song of the Week – “Go the Distance”

I was and am a fan of Disney music. While Hercules was never my favorite of their movies, I really like the song “Go the Distance.” As a kid “Go the Distance” just seemed connect. I mean, who doesn’t want to find a place where they can not only belong, but excel? Who doesn’t want to make a difference? But the kind of journey we are asked to walk as believers does not necessarily look like the song.

As believers we are called to the “narrow way” (Matthew 7:14). We are called to walk a path that will very likely not lead to applause and cheering. It may even lead to death. The cost of the road of Christ is the death of self. We are to take up our cross and follow after him. Our journey has to be about Jesus.

Great song though!
